The Skillswap Project is an initiative aimed at bringing together theatre-makers and performance artists from different disciplines in an environment of curiosity and generosity. Through fortnightly practical workshops curated by sad siren and run by a variety of practitioners, artists will be given the space to exchange, share, explore, discover, discuss and swap skills.
Each workshop will last between 1 and 2 hours and will prioritise process over product. the sessions will be based on the principle of mutual exchange and creativity. Rather than running a “lesson” or seeking to impart specific knowledge – although this may well be a by-product – we are eager that each workshop leader will benefit from running the session, with the whole group enquiring and learning together.
The sessions will provide an excellent platform for you to meet new collaborators and discover approaches to making work that could enrich your own practice. By creating an open space for Sheffield’s talented and exciting artists to come together and engage practically with each other, we believe great things will happen.
Throughout this series we strongly encourage consistent attendance, believing this will maximise the value of the workshops for everyone involved.
All sessions will be free.
