Starr and Pitt
Performed by Soraya Jane Nabipour and Richard Wing. Directed by Gwilym Lawrence. Devised by the company.
In a dusty, stagnant room on the second floor of an abandoned Woolworths in Sheffield, two amateur magicians have just performed the most important show of their lives. they belong to this building, and this building belongs to them. Perhaps their first ever magic set was purchased here fifteen years ago. perhaps their mentor used to meet them outside its front doors. perhaps he was the store manager. Perhaps he died or left or gave up magic for good. perhaps they ended tonight’s show by performing his signature trick to a live audience for the first time.
Tonight was a special night. A special performance. The show is over.
Come in for a drink.
Playing with failure, indifference and the yawning gap between appearance and reality, Sad Siren Theatre create an intimate, unforgettable and distinctly un-magical experience. Make-up smudges; Facades slip; and, if you play your cards right, the truth will out…
Sad Siren were proud to present 'Starr and Pitt' in association with Theatre Delicatessen as part of the 'Horror Souk' festival.
